Exposing The Errors of Mainstream Christianity

With a thrilling message of hope to take to the people, the Apostles commenced the work of preaching. They proclaimed the message of a risen Christ who would return again to the earth and set up thereon his universal reign. They called upon men and women to believe this message and to be baptized into the name of the Lord Jesus Christ. Thus they fulfilled the missionhe had delivered unto them to do:

"Go into all the world and preach the gospel; he that believeth and is baptized shall be saved . . ." (Mark16:16).

Gradually communities of believers were established throughout the world. They were organized into Ecclesias, a word that has been rendered “church” in the Bible, but which signifies when properly translated from the Greek, "called out ones." These answer to the description of Acts 15:14: "God did visit the Gentiles, to take OUT OF THEM, a people or His name."

The Ecclesias were exhorted to live so as to have Christ as their example(1 Pet. 2:21-25), to live in anticipation of his return (2 Thess. 3:5),when they would reign with him (2 Tim. 2:12). They were taught that they were spiritual Israelites (Gal. 6: 16), having embraced the national hope of Israel by baptism into Christ (Eph. 2:11-13), and constituting the heirs of the promises made from the beginning (Gal. 3:26-28).

They were taught that outside of this "one faith" (Eph. 4:5) there was "no hope" (Eph. 2:12), and that natural Jews had forfeited their claim to the title of "Israelites indeed" by their rejection of Christ Jesus (Rom. 11:7).

The Coming Of An Apostasy.

But the Apostles also warned, that as Israel had drifted from God, so also could these Gentile believers. In fact, they predicted an apostasy from the one faith. Paul warned:

"I know this, that after my departing, shall grievous wolves enter in among you, not sparing the flock. Also of your own selves shall men arise, speaking perverse things to draw away disciples after them" (Acts 20:29-30).

"The time will come when they will not endure sound doctrine; but after their own lusts shall they heap to themselves teachers, having itching ears; and they shall turn away their ears from the truth, and shall be turned unto fables" (2 Timothy 4:3-4).

These warning words have had sad fulfillment. In course of time truth became submerged by a flood of error. The Ecclesias lost their distinctive character, and though the churches that arose claimed to be Christian, they were found denying the doctrines of Christ. Christendom today is astray from the Bible. Such ideas as the immortality of the soul, the trinity, heaven going as a reward, an immortal devil, and other theories, are completely erroneous. A personal responsibility rests upon every individual to seek out the truth for themselves if they would be saved (Rom. 1:16; 1 Cor.15:1-2).

THE TRINITY?

Understanding the Father, Son, and the Holy Spirit THIS IS AN ASBOLUTE MUST READ! A study into the Doctrine of the Trinity with explanations to all those verses that you were taught supported this doctrine.

The Doctrine of The Trinity ANALYTICALLY EXAMINED AND REFUTED By Percy E. White A refutation of a doctrine that has led the professing Christian world astray, imposing upon its credulity "another Jesus," and therefore "another gospel" (Gal. i. 6-9) unknown to Paul or to any one of the other Divine writers.

The History of The Doctrine of The Trinity The history of religion has always been one of degeneration from the originally revealed pure monotheism to various forms of polytheism. "Christianity," as popularly known, has been no exception. The Bible, in both Old and New Testaments, is very emphatic about the absolute oneness of God. When asked which is the first commandment of all?" Jesus answered (Mark 12:29)
"The first of all the commandments is; Hear, O Israel, THE LORD OUR GOD IS ONE LORD."
He was quoting from the words of Moses in Deut. 6:4. This is the consistent story of the Bible.
There is not a word about three gods in it from beginning to end.

PASSAGES QUOTED TO PROVE THE TRINITY [Proven False] The verses considered were presented by a trinitarian as the best he knew to "prove" the doctrine of the Trinity.

THE TRINITY...WRESTLED SCRIPTURES Are mainstream Christian teachings correct? The true Gospel can suffer from our preconceived ideas and misinterpretations. Find out what the Bible is actually saying and where interpretation can go wrong.

God is One, not Three "True worshippers shall worship the Father in spirit and in truth; for the Father seeketh such to worship him " -John 4:23.Christ's words are challenging. They declare that God finds pleasure only in the worship of those who approach Him "in spirit and truth." They imply that true worshippers are limited to those who are prepared to search out the truth concerning God, and make it the foundation of their spiritual life.

The Holy Spirit The Holy Spirit is not a person; it is a spirit, and a spirit is an influence, power, or energy sent forth or generated by someone or something. While the trinitarian deceit declares the Holy Spirit to be the third person of the trinity, co-equal and co-eternal with the Father, the Scriptures testify in Acts 10:38, "God anointed Jesus of Nazareth with the Holy Spirit and with power. " How, it has been asked before and we raise the question again, how can one co-equal (God) take another co-equal (the Holy Spirit) and anoint yet another co-equal (Jesus) with that second one? Of course it makes no sense; but an examination of some passages of Scripture will show us that the Holy Spirit is simply God's power by which He accomplishes certain works.

Trinity Examined In some places in the bible, Jesus speaks of himself and his Father (GOD) being "One". Many churches believe this indicates that Jesus was not a man truly like you and I, but was actually God, who for a while had put on flesh like a a garment to work out our salvation...Let us examine what Jesus really was saying, when he said he was "one" with God.

The Hidden Flaw in Traditional Christianity: A Perversion of Monotheism

Ignorance is Bliss (...at least its better than error!) We have no mandate to KNOW everything. Far better to be ignorant in pursuit of knowledge, than to feign knowledge based on assumptions that are conveniently labeled "mysteries". Our knowledge is only as solid as the knowledge it is built upon.

Who Is Jesus? Do the Creeds Tell Us the Truth About Him? It is a well-documented fact that many of the church's "major doctrines" were not instituted until well after New Testament apostolic times. Christians in search of a vigorous biblical Christianity will find it refreshing to distinguish between what comes from Scripture and what many have unconsciously 'canonized' from Church tradition and Councils.

Who Is Jesus? God, or Unique Man? or What's in a Vowel Point? The Difference Between God and Man "The form ADONI ('my lord'), a royal title (I Sam 29:8), is to be carefully distinguished from the divine title ADONAI("my Lord") used of Yahweh."

The Nature of Preexistence in the New Testament Speaking of Jesus as the Son of God had a very different connotation in the first century from that which it has had ever since the Council of Nicea (325 AD).

Pre-Existent Christ? Origins of Messiah Most people I have talked to about Colossians 1:15-19 glibly say "that Christ created everything". That he was always in heaven with his father "proved" by the fact that he was not only actually there when the creation was done, but he did it himself. "Just read it they say, it is so plain"! They also say "Read John chapter one, it is so plain and simple". I have found that you must study the word very carefully and prayerfully before you glibly proclaim "it's so plain and simple". The truth is simple but finding it is profound at times.

Pre-Existance?

Did Jesus Really Come Down From Heaven?

The Truth About Holy Spirit Gifts

God, Jesus and The Holy Spirit The Bible teaches that Jesus was the Son of God, not God the Son.

Passages purported to uphold the idea that Jesus is God John 1:1...Philippians 2:6-9...Isaiah 9:6...John 10:30...John 20:28

Response to Mainstream Christianity: The Nature of Christ The bulk of all Christianity teaches unequivocally that Jesus is God. This claim is made without qualification. Typically, it is said that Jesus is 100% man and 100% God: that Jesus was fully God, and never ceased to be God while on earth. And usually, when it really gets down to the nitty-gritty, it is said the whole issue (the Trinity) is a mystery. Inherent Flaws in this are...

The Holy Spirit Father and Son are completely at one in mind and purpose, and-since Christ was glorified-in nature ;together they exercise the power which is termed Spirit. There is a profound unity between Father, Son, and Holy Spirit; but, as will be seen from these passages, it is not the mysterious "Trinity in unity" of three co-equal and co-eternal persons.

The Spirit of the Holy One The Holy Spirit is mentioned numerous times in the Old Testament, yet, the Hebrews never envisioned the Spirit of God as a separate being who is part of a triune God. They always (and still do) thought of the Spirit of God as the presence of God himself, his mind and power. The Old Testament never thought of the Holy Spirit as a person distinct from the Father.

Key Words and Customs of the Bible A careful study of the real meanings of certain key Hebrew and Greek words and customs which when used and understood will change the meanings of some very important verses. This paper is not based on opinion, the definitions come straight out of Bible dictionaries, Bible encyclopedias and lexicons which are listed. A must for the Bible student.

HEAVEN AND HELL

Where did the the popular belief that the righteous go to heaven and sinners are plunged to hell come from? Why is it that people want to "go to heaven"? MANKIND HAS BEEN DECEIVED ON JUST ABOUT EVERY OTHER FACET OF GOD'S PLAN -- so what about the here- after? Let us strip away the spiritual blinders , and see what God's Word has to say on this vital subject!

Hell Torments - A Failure, a Fallacy and a Fraud The rank hell torment preaching during a revival meeting in Massey Hall, by THE EVANGELIST, DR. TORREY, was the immediate cause of this lecture being given at this time. Dr. Torrey was first challenged to meet Mr. Williams in public discussion on the question: "Do the Scriptures Teach the Doctrine of Unending Hell Torment?" Upon his refusal, arrangements were made for the lecture.

HELL The Bible doctrine of hell is a subject which is much misunderstood. A prevalent false theory is that hell is a place burning with fire and brimstone, where sinners are tortured after they die. According to this view, when the sinner dies, his invisible, immaterial, immortal "soul" goes to this place of unending agony. The sinner, men who teach this theory assert, experiences indescribable pain and misery in hell fire torture during all eternity. This theory is untrue; it is unscriptural.

The Christian Death This paper deals specifically with the concept of death. What does the Bible say happens to an individual at the moment of death as compared to what tradition through the influence of Greek philosophy has claimed.

You Will Never Go To Heaven -- Booklet explaining Paul's "desire to depart" (Phil. 1:23); "Absent from the body" (2 Cor. 5:8); and The "Father's house of many mansions" (John 14:2)

The Great Salvation part four - dealing with such topics as...ELIJAH RESTORES THE SOUL OF THE CHILD * HER SOUL WAS IN DEPARTING * CANNOT KILL THE SOUL * THE SOULS UNDER THE ALTAR * THE SPIRIT SHALL RETURN TO GOD WHO GAVE IT * PAUL'S DESIRE TO DEPART * ABSENT FROM THE BODY AND PRESENT WITH THE LORD * THE SPIRITS IN PRISON * THE THIEF ON THE CROSS * THE RICH MAN AND LAZARUS

The Rich Man, Lazarus, and Abraham Sometimes in the Bible it is obvious when a parable is a parable, and when real events are real events. Sometimes the reader can easily distinguish between things to be taken literally and things to be taken figuratively. But this is not always so simple.

Man: His Origin, Nature, and Destiny by Thomas Williams - Delivered in 1898

The Kingdom of Heaven The Kingdom of Heaven is a phrase only found in Matthew's gospel. The churches of this world assume that because it refers to heaven, the actual location of the kingdom is in heaven. Is this really true?

Why is man mortal? MANY religious people believe that they possess a "spark of the divine entity" called the immortal soul. They do so without carefully considering just what the Bible declares about this personal and important matter.

The Bible Meaning of Soul To the average person, the word "soul" carries the meaning of an undying, immaterial essence that continues unconscious existence after death. This conception is accepted without thought or examination . As soon as we start to look into the question, however, we begin to make very interesting discoveries. We find, first of all, that the BIBLE meaning of soul is ALTOGETHER DIFFERENT from this, and immediately the question arises: How can the commonly accepted religious conception of soul be entirely different from the soul of the Bible, seeing that the beliefs of Christendom are supposed to be based upon the Bible?

Man is mortal It is generally admitted that the body has been derived from the dust of the ground, but the supposed "immortal soul" is believed to have come from God, and returns to Him when death destroys the body. At the time of death, the soul is believed to go to heaven if the person is good, but will go to hell if he has been wicked, and there will be tortured in hell-fire throughout eternity. As a result of the acceptance of a belief in the doctrine of the immortality of the soul, it became necessary to invent places for the soul to go to at the time of death. This has been accomplished by giving the people the doctrines of heaven-going, hell-fire torments, purgatory, the singing of masses intercession of saints, and many other similar practices. The doctrine of the immortality of the soul does not come from the Bible; it is strictly of pagan origin.

Have I an immortal soul? The Bible is right, and popular teaching is wrong...find out why.

Do souls go to heaven? Did the early church teach the separation of a conscious soul from its body at the moment of death and its departure to heaven?

The Thief in Paradise There is no kingdom till he appears; for he appears, as the God of heaven, to set up the kingdom, and in so doing to break in pieces and consume all the kingdoms of the Gentiles.--Dan. 2:44.

Eternal Life ... On Earth; Not in Heaven! The Bible reveals a far more attractive hope than the teaching of an immaterial soul wending its way to a theoretical heaven.

Where is hell? The tragedy is that the common belief of this doctrine, which has been such a stumbling block to religion, need never have arisen if men had confined their ideas to what the Bible teaches about hell.

Hell is the grave Eternal Torture a Fiendish Invention of the Fleshly Mind "The dead know not anything . . . There is no work, nor device, nor knowledge, nor wisdom, in the grave, whither thou goest" (Eccl 9:5-10). Of all the false doctrines of orthodox Christendom, or any other system of religious speculation, surely it can be safely said that the hideous conception of eternal excruciating agony for nine-tenths of the human race in the flames of hell has been the most destructive of faith in God and belief in the Bible -- the most productive of atheism and skepticism. There is no greater blasphemy or perversion of Scripture than to attribute such characteristics to God.

Hell and the destiny of the wicked BIBLE ANSWERS TO PASSAGES THAT ARE OFTEN MISINTERPRETED ON THE SUBJECT OF HELL AND THE DESTINY OF THE WICKED

The punishment of the wicked Will all the unworthy of mankind rise from the dead to suffer punishment?

Where do we go when we die You are not sure, but you think, "to hell". Will it surprise you to be told that the answer is entirely untrue; that, in point of fact, when we die, we are DEAD, and go not anywhere, except to the grave, there to remain until the hour of resurrection arrives with the coming of Christ? It may even make you angry. But if you are of a reasonable mind, you will cool down, and ask, "is it so?" You will inquire after the evidence, and if you search long enough, and thoroughly enough, and earnestly enough, you will find it. You will discover...

What happens at death? What really happens at death? Why do we even have to die? Can we know if there is life beyond the grave? Where can we go for meaningful, believable answers? Only the Creator of life can reveal its purpose and the state of the dead. By looking into the Word of God for answers to our questions about death, we can learn a great deal about both life and death. Join us now for a look at what God, our Creator, says about life and death in His inspired Word, the Bible. You may be both surprised and challenged by what you learn....please note...contains some erroneous views of satan, the book of Revelation, and future resurrection and judgment. However the general teaching about death is good.

Bible Immortality, Not the Immortality of Christendom This cannot be made more evident than by the following questions and answers as to what the Bible teaches concerning immortality:

Paradise: Popular Views and Divine Revelation Paradise was lost on earth: why should it not be regained on earth? The Paradise of the past was a land bearing trees and surrounded by rivers (Gen. 2:8-17): should not the Paradise of the future be also on the face of this globe? God has not promised heaven to the righteous. Even David has not gone there (Acts 2:34).

A Consideration of Some Passages Thought to Teach Natural Immortality Natural immortality is NOT a Biblical doctrine but an invention of man.

Does death end all?...if you say "No" to this question, you are supposed to favor the common belief that man is immortal, and exists in death as much as in life. If you say "Yes" you are supposed to deny all religious beliefs...

SATAN AND DEMONS

The subject of "demons" ("devils" in the King James Version of the Bible) is one fraught with difficulties. There can be no doubt that many Jews and Gentiles in the days of Jesus believed in the existence of demons as supernatural beings, responsible for many of the afflictions of the human race. However, there is also considerable evidence, within and outside the Bible, for rejecting this view. But if that is so, we are left with numerous questions. What are demons? What are the origins of belief in demons? Why was this belief, apparently, so widespread in the land of Palestine in the days of Jesus? How is it related to what the Bible says about the devil and Satan? Is there any particular significance in alternative terms such as "unclean spirit"? And, perhaps the most difficult question of all, why do the writers of the Gospels and the Acts, and Jesus himself. seems to refer to such things as if they are living beings with an independent existence?

The Devil: His origin and end by Thomas Williams

IN SEARCH OF SATAN Blow by blow, each Bible passage which mentions satan or the devil is analyzed. Not only are wrong ideas corrected, but the more difficult task of expounding what these passages do mean is tackled. Features useful appendices on demons and 'The Jewish Satan'. AN EXCELLENT WORK BY DUNCAN HEASTER!

Wrestled Scriptures about Satan/The Devil/Demons etc

Wrested scripture on the devil may be categorized into three areas:
a.Passages which are cited to prove that the devil is a fallen angel. (e.g., Job 1; Rev. 12).
b.Passages which are quoted to prove that the devil is a personal super-human being. (e.g., Matt. 4).
c.Passages in which demons are said to "possess" humans. (e.g. Matt. 12:22).
Check out all the passages, one by one, that you "think" teach that Satan and demons are supernatural beings. A truly fascinating study.

Bible Basics Study #6: God and Evil Many sects of Christendom, along with many other religions, believe that there is a being or monster called the Devil or Satan who is the originator of the problems which are in the world and in our own lives, and who is responsible for the sin which we commit. The Bible clearly teaches that God is all-powerful. We have seen in Study 1.4 that the Angels cannot sin.
If we truly believe these things, then it is impossible that there is any supernatural being at work in this universe that is opposed to Almighty God. If we believe that such a being does exist, then surely we are questioning the supremacy of God Almighty. This issue is so important that the correct understanding of the devil and satan must be considered a vital doctrine.
We are told in Heb.2:14 that Jesus destroyed the devil by his death; therefore unless we have a correct understanding of the devil, we cannot understand the work or nature of Jesus.

"That Old Serpent, the Devil and Satan" (Revelation 12:9) "That old serpent, called the Devil, and Satan" (Revelation 12:9). The world has been deceived, not only by the influence represented by these words, but by the terms themselves. This subject is one of the most confusing in the Bible. The traditional view has been greatly influenced by ancient superstitions. Today, most Christians have been led to believe that there is a supernatural being who is the enemy of God and the author of evil.

BIBLE TEACHING CONCERNING THE DEVIL - It is not a fallen angel!!! Reading: Hebrews CHAPTER 2 ...It is taught by some that the devil is a superhuman monster, a fallen angel, or an angel that has rebelled against God and who dominates the minds of humanity, inducing them to sin. The teaching induces fear of the devil, and also provides an excuse for sin by blaming it on him.

THE DEVIL...A BIBLICAL EXPOSITION OF THE TRUTH The popular conception of Satan, like that of hell, has had its origin in the mythology of the ancient heathen nations. It has not been derived from the Word of God, nor does it find any support therein.

THE WORDS "DEVIL" AND "SATAN" ANALYSED"...Are ye so without understanding also? Do ye not perceive, that whatsoever thing from without(outside) entereth into the man, it cannot defile him... That which cometh out of the man, that defileth the man. For from WITHIN, OUT OF THE HEART of men, proceed evil thoughts, adulteries, fornications, murders, Thefts, covetousness, wickedness, deceit, lasciviousness, an evil eye, blasphemy, pride, foolishness: All these evil things come from within, and defile the man." Mark 7:18-23.
If all these failings come from within, it leaves precious little for any external devil to do! Notice, also, that Christ taught that mankind are defiled by internal thoughts, not external influences. Obviously he did not believe in a superhuman devil, but warned his hearers against the evil propensities within.

The Legion of Devils What kind of beings constituted 'the legion of devils' referred to in Mark 5:9-12?

What are Demons? How do you explain the story about the demoniac called Legion (Mar 5:1-20)?

A Biblical study of The Devil and demons The popular belief concerning the devil is that it is a personal being, that he is immortal, that he is all-knowing, everywhere present, that he has a kingdom of his own (located in the center of earth and called hell), that he is in hell tormenting bad people that's died, in a fire, and at the same time roaming on the earth, deceiving and enticing millions of men, women, and children. It is believed by many that he was once an angel in heaven, but rebelled against God, so God kicked him and his rebellious followers out of heaven. This is believed to have happened long before God created man.
The people that believe this claim to get proof from the Bible. So let us turn to our Bibles and consider the verses they point out and ask ourselves, CAN THIS IDEA BE TRUE??

The Evil One There can be no doubt that the popular conception of the devil is largely due to Milton's work, Paradise Lost. But when we ask scriptural evidence in support of it, we are referred to various parts of the Bible which may be woven into a tolerably complete argument in its favour, if we are at liberty to wrench them from their place and surroundings, and piece them together without the least reference to the significance imparted to them by their several contexts. If we judge them by their contexts, we find them to have no relevancy to the subject whatever. Indeed, nothing tends more effectually to dissipate the popular theory of the Evil One than the study of these portions of scripture. Let us glance at them in the order in which they come naturally to be adduced.

Do You Believe in a Devil? Bible Teaching Regarding Temptation...there are many people who believe that the devil exists, that he wields immense power for evil (some say he is a fallen angel) and is constantly trying to destroy the work of God among men and women. They think it is the devil that secretly whispers in your ear and tempts you to evil. Of course there are real difficulties about accepting such an idea. If the devil was a real angel to begin with, how ever did he come to revolt against God? And why does God allow a supernatural being to destroy His work in the earth? Where is the devil now, anyway? And how can he really work?

The Devil Not A Personal Super-Natural Being, But The Scriptural Personification of Sin In Its Manifestations Among Men Taken from the Christendom Astray Lecture Series. Written by Robert Roberts.

Is there a devil? How did the devil come into existence? Was it by the rebellion of an archangel who was in consequence expelled from heaven, as described in Milton's Paradise Lost, and who is now using his godlike powers in opposition to God?

Demons in the Bible This online version of a booklet written by Anthony Fitzgerald examines the subject of demons in the Bible. From The Scotland and Northern Ireland Christadelphian Home Page.

The Bible Teaching Concerning The Devil and Satan We are informed by Paul in Heb. 2:14 that the very object of Christ's assumption of the nature common to man, was that "through death he might destroy . . . the devil". It is manifest, therefore, that it is no empty discussion that is raised when we enquire who the devil is that Christ came to destroy. We must know him, or we fail to comprehend one of the most vital aims of the work of Christ.

Conversely, there are no descriptions of demon possession in Judea or Jerusalem in the four Gospel accounts...

The Bible Devil Defined Immortal life in the Kingdom of God to be set up on earth (Dan. 2:44) is the hope set before us. To attain unto it we must conquer the devil, or sin in the flesh. The first step to that end is an understanding of the purpose of God in Christ, including his conquest of the devil. Let us clearly identify the devil and we will be better fitted to grapple with the problem of sin that faces us.

The Bible Alive! Identifying The Devil The term "devil" is used to describe the human nature and its adversarial attitude towards God. It is this adversarial attitude that establishes a barrier between God and man. Jesus destroyed the barrier in his life and death. He always did that which was pleasing to God, being totally free from sin or transgression, yet at the same time, he possessed the nature that made him susceptible to transgression -- he possessed our nature.

HOW SHOULD WE UNDERSTAND DEMONS?There is only one God, One Supreme Power, and it is He who controls both good and evil.

GOD and HIS MESSIAH

In The Beginning Was The Word The A detailed look atJohn1:1-3 & 14. The "Word" is not a reference to Jesus as most of us have been taught, it is "a message" as John himself tells us in his first epistle.

The Messiah of God The key to understanding the person of Jesus is to understand what it means to be the Messiah. This paper is an in-depth look at what this most important title of Jesus really means.

Two Gods? A scriptural look at the God of Jesus Christ. Jesus speaks about his God, Paul, Peter, and John all speak of the God of Jesus Christ.

Did Jesus Really Die? Did Jesus really die? Of course he did. The Bibles states that fact in many verses. The Bible also states that only God has immortality.

Jesus is Omniscient? The Doctrine of the Trinity claims that Jesus is God, and it is for this reason the doctrine claims that Jesus is thus omnipotent, omnipresent, and omniscient, equal in all ways to the Father. In this short paper we will be discussing the latter, is Jesus omniscient?

Was Jesus Really Tempted? Of course he was. We are all familiar with the temptation of Jesus, but have most of us noticed how the temptation of Jesus makes the trinity an absurd impossibility. Let take a look at it in depth.

The Jewish Messiah A study about whom actually is responsible for the death of Jesus. Was it the Jewish population, the Romans, or was it the elite priestly government (the Sanhedrin) with the support of Jerusalem's merchants? It also includes many verses from the Old Testament of the promised Messiah that Jesus fulfilled.

The Blasphemy of Jesus of Nazareth The purpose of this paper is to examine the charges that were brought against Jesus that led him to be crucified. Were the charges that were brought against him that he was claiming to be God, or that he was claiming to be God’s anointed king of Israel?

An Explanation Colossians 1:15-20 Colossians 1:15-20 has been distorted in its meaning for centuries now by most of mainstream Christianity. This is in turn due to the fact that most of mainstream Christianity still holds the Doctrine of the Trinity to be true. It is almost a catch 22. Which came first the chicken or the egg? In this case the chicken, a.k.a. the Trinity. When the Doctrine of the Trinity became dogma, Trinitarians looked for any verses to back up this new idea. Unfortunately, these verses were one of their victims.

Who is Christ? Even though modern theology may seem complicated, the TRUTH is SIMPLE:
For there is one God, and one mediator between God and men, the man Christ Jesus; 1Ti.2:5

Who is Jesus? God the Son or Son of God?

Jesus Christ Son of Man, Son of God The Word of God is the wisdom of God, the thoughts or intelligence of the Deity. By this word the worlds were created, and are upheld by the word of his power; and without this word was not anything made that was made... I believe the Bible teaches that one of the requirements of salvation is that you must be baptized in the name of Jesus (Acts 10:48, 19:5, 2:38-41, 8:12, 16:30-33, 22:16, Galatians 3:27, Romans 6:3. Here are a few articles on the subject...

Why Baptism Really Matters What the Bible has to say about baptism is be vital for us to understand. If Christ and his chosen apostles have declared certain things about baptism, then we ought to want to know what they are.

The Truth About Baptism Much has been said and written on the subject of BAPTISM and many different ideas have emerged. Let us set aside any preconceived conclusion and allow the Bible to show us what it teaches.

BAPTISM -- Essential to Salvation The Bible shows that baptism is essential to salvation, and if we are not prepared to humble ourselves and submit to it, we will not be saved, no matter how "pious" we may imagine ourselves to be.

What is True Baptism? The call to `take Jesus into your life' has apparently superseded the scriptural requirement to `Repent, and be baptized. 'Is this approach the same as that used by Jesus and his disciples in the first century and if not, is it really sufficient for salvation? In this article we will investigate the role of baptism, what true baptism actually is and why it is so important for each of us.

THE SABBATH

Is the Sabbath Part of the New Covenant? Is it still binding on Christians, or was the Sabbath law fulfilled in the teachings of Christ and we are no longer bound by it?" This is an important question for many Christians. The reason being that according to Scripture, if you break one law you are just as guilty as if you broke all of the law. In the Old Testament the punishment for not keeping the Sabbath was being stoned to death. Holding to this idea, not keeping the Sabbath becomes an issue of salvation for some groups.

Sunday and the Sabbath Bible Teaching About God's Day of Rest

The Truth About...The Sabbath The teaching of the Lord Jesus showed clearly that serving God on a full time basis, was the message of the Gospel, not the keeping of the Law and of Sabbaths and Holy days.

Bible Basics...The Sabbath Some groups claim that we should keep the Jewish Sabbath exactly as defined in the Law; many others feel that Christians should have a specific day of the week upon which to worship, which they often define as Sunday. Which is the correct view?

Wrestled Scriptures...On Seventh Day Adventism There are problems with SDA doctrine when it comes to their teaching on The SABBATH and their view of what the MILLENIUM will be like.

ETERNAL SECURITY

The Truth About...Salvation Not everyone that saith unto me, Lord, Lord, shall enter into the Kingdom of heaven...

The Truth About...Imputed Righteousness Faith is much more than a ' simple belief in God'. Nearly everyone has that kind of 'faith', Christians and pagans alike.

Biblical passages that are misinterpreted concerning being saved. Three distinct uses of "saved" occur in Scripture. Care in their use is required to avoid the misleading and disastrous conclusions of Evangelicals. Like... Jude 5...God "having saved the people out of the land of Egypt, afterward destroyed them that believed not." "Having saved" is not used in the ultimate sense of eternal salvation.

Christendom Astray, Chapter 17...What must I do to be SAVED? What are the conditions which we are required to fulfil, in order to a participation in the great salvation to be revealed at the coming of the Lord?

ETERNAL LIFE...ON EARTH, NOT IN HEAVEN A correct understanding of biblical doctrines is essential to salvation!

1000 YEAR REIGN OF CHRIST

The Kingdom of God Present or Future? It is essential to make a fundamental distinction between the proclamation of the Good News of the Kingdom, which is at the heart of the ministry of Christ and the Apostles, and the future coming of the Kingdom which is consistently associated with His Coming in glory at the end of the "present evil age" (Gal. 1:4).

Wrestled Scriptures...explains why "the Kingdom of God" is not synonymous with "the Church of Christ" or "the church" in this dispensation.

The Kingdom of God A short paper on the Kingdom of God.

The Kingdom of God Not Yet In Existence, But To Be Established Visibly On The Earth At A Future Day ON NO subject will Christendom found to have gone more astray than on the subject of the Kingdom of God--a subject which, without exaggeration, may be said to constitute the very backbone of the divine purpose with the earth and its inhabitants. What is the Kingdom of God? It is one of the most important questions that can be asked, from a Scriptural point of view: for this reason: whatever the Kingdom of God is, IT WAS THE GREAT SUBJECT-MATTER OF THE GOSPEL PREACHED BY JESUS AND HIS APOSTLES.

Bible Basics: The Kingdom of God God's purpose is to reward His faithful people with eternal life at the return of Christ. This eternal life will be spent on earth; God's repeated promises concerning this never imply that the faithful will go to heaven. "The Gospel (good news) of the kingdom of God" (Matt. 4:23) was preached to Abraham in the form of God's promises concerning eternal life on earth (Gal. 3:8). The "kingdom of God" is therefore the time after Christ's return when these promises will be fulfilled. Whilst God is ultimately the King of His entire creation even now, He has given man freewill to rule the world and his own life as he wishes. Thus at present the world is comprised of "the kingdom of men" (Dan. 4:17).

The New Earth The new earth will be the eternal home of the redeemed. God's plan of salvation includes the transformation of the earth as well as the redemption of man. Christ and His glorified saints will dwell upon this planet which will be cleansed, purified, and transformed into the paradise of God.

THE SIMPLICITY OF THE GOSPEL OF THE KINGDOM OF GOD The purpose of this study is to show that the Good News of the Kingdom of God is essentially simple. It is a message about a coming universal rule on earth and how you can take part in that world government. Jesus saw the announcement of that message as the chief purpose of His mission.

PROPHECY

The Coming Antichrist: Jesus of Nazareth? In recent years, there has been a tremendous increase in interest within Christian circles as to what the Bible reveals about the course history will follow. One of the most prominent beliefs to emerge is the conviction that a single man will arise, the Antichrist, who will personally fulfil many prophecies in the Bible. Could it be, is there even a remote possibility, that Christ himself could be mistakenly identified as the Antichrist? Could the most serious blunder of history be the opposing of the real Christ as the fabricated Antichrist? Lest the reader dismiss the suggestion out of hand, we beg him/her to compare what the Scriptures reveal concerning Christ at His second coming on the one hand, with what many christian expositors believe this evil despot, Antichrist, will do, on the other.

THE GREAT DELUSION: A Scriptural Analysis of Christianity's "Future Antichrist" The Bible describes several specific events which Jesus, acting under God's authority, will accomplish when he returns to the earth. It is important to note and understand these events since most in Christendom today are unfamiliar with them.

The Truth About...The AntiChrist Has the power of antichrist already been here for hundreds of years?

Prophetic Review Outline...Events Subsequent to Christ's Return Scripture evidence for concluding that we are living in the epoch of Christ's second coming, and that the events in sequence are as follows:
1. Christ returns first to raise the dead and judge his household.
2. Meanwhile, Russia will complete the invasion of the Middle East, and will occupy Egypt.
3. The judgment completed, Christ will send forth Elijah and his assistants to Israel scattered abroad, to proclaim to Jewry that Messiah has returned, and to bid them make their way back to the land.
4. The whole world will be involved in war, and the armies of the nations will converge on the Middle East.
5. Christ will emerge from Sinai on a work of conquest, and will first discipline and subdue the Arab nations.
6. He will then turn his hand towards Egypt, and will "smite and heal" that nation, destroying the remnant of Gog's host that will be left there as an occupation force when the main body of the army moved north to Jerusalem.
7. The representatives of all nations being gathered to Jerusalem to battle, divine judgment, in the form of Armageddon will be poured out upon them.

The Real Facts Concerning the Second Coming of Jesus Christ Jesus Christ is about to return to this earth. Though this might seem completely unreal and beyond belief, it is the only answer to a world bent on self-destruction.

Thirteen Lectures on The Apocalypse The object of these lectures is to make known, in a simple manner (for the benefit particularly of believers of the Truth), the meaning of the symbols exhibited to John in the Isle of Patmos, in their bearing on the events of history and those mightier events in the near future to which they have all been leading.

The Olivet Prophecy The Olivet Prophecy is recorded in Matthew, Mark, and Luke. In order to grasp it properly, it is necessary to synchronize all three accounts. When that is done, a remarkable prophecy emerges.

The Sect Everywhere Spoken Against The faith "once delivered to the saints" is practically nowhere to be found today. But alas, there are people who hold on to the one true faith of the apostolic times...find out who they are.

THE GREAT SALVATION First appearing in 1893, this wonderful work was prepared by the author, Thomas Williams, in connection with "The World's Columbian Exposition" held in Chicago in that year at which time thirteen thousand copies were distributed at a booth set up at the "World's Congress of Religions" held at the Chicago Art Institute.

Since that time the work has continued in steady demand as the purposes for which it was prepared: "to present the only true plan of salvation in as clear and concise a form" as the circumstances called for, "and it's merits as a means of heralding the gospel to the perishing, aiding young students of the Word, and assisting parents and teachers in teaching the Scriptures" are still as vital and necessary as they were eighty-five years ago.

Elpis Israel - An Exposition of the Kingdom of God
